ok dear and I have already patched up. Thank you to those who have shown concern. Kaiqain, Lihao, Keng, Chris etc. I believe this trial was worth it cos it made us more aware of what each of us wanted from this r/s and changed us for the better.
Friday night was spent at zouk with a few from my platoon. I half expected e entire world to b there cos of e national day break but surprisingly only bumped into lisheng. Anw it was damn crowded n we were deaf e next day but yet it can be still considered fun lar.
10 reasons why I watched 881 and didn't like it:
1)According to some reviews its worth 4 stars yet it falls way below initial expectations.
2)The 2 hour hokkien song-filled $9.50 movie watched during a weekend was indistinguishable from a free getai during hungry ghost festival.
3)QiYiWu's role 881 was redundant. Why someone who's deaf and mute? Even e cock he carried left a deeper impression.
4)If there was a story to be told. The plot was shallow and cliche.
5)The illogical and totally nonsensical fighting b/w characters with powers shooting out from fingers and bras?! Even power rangers made more sense.
6)May and Choy drew media attention with their looks yet disgusted me with their horrible mandarin that left me squirming in my seat.
7)To condescend in order to relate to e lifestyles of the characters really quite difficult if not impossible.
8)The narration throughout the movie constantly reminded me of the one in 'mother', and I wonder if he desperatively needed a breakthrough.
9)Royston tried too hard with the gimmicks of filming and although deserve praise for it, failed to develop other facotors of a great movie.
10)It just doesnt make sense.
However, it seems that those from the higher end in the demographics of singapore will find it interesting. I find them interesting.
